Job Title: Radiology Technologist/Limited Scope Operator
Reports To: Clinic Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
- Ensure accurate positioning of patients to obtain optimal images while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Process and send for Radiologist review according to clinic protocols, ensuring they are properly labeled, sent and archived for easy retrieval.
- Adhere to all radiation safety protocols, including the use of lead aprons and other protective equipment.
- Follow clinic policies and state regulations regarding radiation exposure and patient confidentiality.
- Regularly inspect and maintain X-ray equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly.
- Report any malfunctions or issues with equipment promptly to ensure patient safety.
- Assist with general patient care duties, including patient intake, taking vital signs, preparing examination rooms, and providing basic medical care as needed.
- Anticipates if the provider needs any other tests run including Hgb Mc, Quick Strep, Rapid Flu, Urine Dip, and pregnancy test.
- Conducts call backs as directed by providers including getting lab results, prescription refills, tickler files, re-scheduling and general messages.
- Responsible for injections, phlebotomy, setting up and assisting with procedures, nebulizers, and EKGs.
- Prepare patients and equipment for radiology procedures, perform the tests, and maintain the equipment.
- Conducts drug and alcohol testing according to Department of Transportation and company guidelines.
- Conducts Occupational Medicine testing including audio testing, pulmonary function testing, respirator fit testing, physical capacity exams, Department of Transportation exams, Federal Aviation exams, etc.
- Opens, closes, cleans, and stocks exam rooms. Autoclaves instruments.
- Answers phones, checks in/checks out patients, and processes referrals when needed.
- Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
- Participates in required city, state, and regulatory training and meetings as assigned by the employer.
- Performs any other duties that assist in the operations of the office.
- Follows and adheres to all current local and state COVID-19 guidelines and procedures.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Specialized Training: Radiology Technologist License or Limited Scope Operator Certification
- Certificates and Licenses: Radiology Technologist License or Limited Scope Operator Certificate
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) License
- Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) certification
