Windows/Linux AdministratorLocation: Denver, CO Position Type: contract Rate: DOE US Citizen, Green Card, GC EAD and H4 EAD only No Third-party agencies corp to corp.Our client is looking for a Windows/Linux Server engineer to join our Public Works team for a short-term implementation engagement. The position will play a fundamental role in designing and implementing several foundational IT services while driving a cultural change at the City as well. This role will primarily be focused on Windows Server Administration, Active Directory Administration and Red Hat Server Administration, and various other process improvement. Utilizing their experience, the ideal candidate will collaborate with Public Works Traffic Management Operations, Technology Services Operations, Applications, Security and Network teams to implement solutions following best practices and standards, mentor junior staff members, and establish processes and documentation supporting these solutions. Additional duties will include documentation of current environment.Expected Responsibilities:Maintain Active Directory to include GPO and user account administrationManage servers to include access and patchingDocument current server infrastructureResponsible for backup of serversAnalyze current processes and identifying efficiency improvementsFacilitate meetings with stakeholders to collect and validate information about current state environmentsFacilitate meetings with stakeholders to collect design requirements for future state systems and processesServe as a mentor to junior team members, contributing to studies and proposals, generate intellectual capital, providing training as necessary and building and maintaining trusted relationships with co-workers and peersPerform operational support duties on Linux and Windows systems as neededUse SolarWinds to monitor serversQualifications:A bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Science, or Operations Management preferred.Interpersonal and leadership skills – elicitation, collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills.Analytical and conceptual thinking skills with innovative capacity.Ability to handle complexity and ambiguity, and provide structure to complex problemsProven written and verbal communication skills.
