Vice President of Development

A highly respected and well-capitalized real estate investment and development firm is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Development to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex mixed‑use development projects.

This executive‑level position offers the opportunity to lead large‑scale developments from acquisition and due diligence through design, construction, and final occupancy while collaborating with senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full development lifecycle for multiple real estate projects, from initial feasibility through project completion.
• Evaluate development opportunities by conducting financial, market, entitlement, and site analyses.
• Direct the planning, zoning, permitting, and governmental approval processes.
• Manage architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other external project partners.
• Oversee design development, budgeting, scheduling, contract negotiations, and construction execution.
• Partner with investment, asset management, accounting, legal, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Monitor project budgets, timelines, and overall financial performance.
• Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions throughout the development process.
• Mentor and lead internal development professionals while fostering collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Architecture, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible real estate development experience.
• Proven success managing complex ground-up mixed‑use developments.
• Strong understanding of project underwriting, financial modeling, entitlement processes, and construction management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating numerous stakeholders.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience delivering large‑scale developments that incorporate multiple asset types—including residential, office, retail, entertainment, or lifestyle‑oriented projects—are strongly encouraged to apply.
