Duties

  • Conduct thorough examinations of animals to diagnose health issues.
  • Administer vaccinations and medications as needed.
  • Perform surgical procedures and dental work with precision.
  • Utilize laboratory equipment for diagnostic testing and analysis.
  • Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
  • Provide guidance on animal husbandry, nutrition, and general care.
  • Handle animals safely and effectively, ensuring their comfort during examinations or treatments.
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Educate pet owners on preventive healthcare measures, including routine check-ups.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
  • State veterinary license in good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of animal physiology, husbandry, and handling techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills with pet owners and team members.
  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology and current best practices in pet care.

Full-time

Monday to Friday

8 hour shifts

Day shifts

No weekends

Experience

small animal: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification

Texas State License (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate

Midland, TX 79701: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
