The team includes Registered Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and Client Service Personnel, all working together to deliver compassionate, modern veterinary medicine in a supportive environment.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Veterinarian role located in Frederick, MD. The Veterinarian will provide comprehensive medical care for companion animals, including performing physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and performing routine and complex surgical procedures. Daily responsibilities include interpreting diagnostic tests, overseeing preventive care such as vaccinations and wellness visits, and ensuring accurate and timely medical recordkeeping in accordance with AAHA standards. The role also involves communicating clearly with pet parents about treatment options, educating them on ongoing care, and collaborating closely with technicians, assistants, and client service team members to deliver coordinated, high-quality care. Participation in hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities is expected to help maintain clinical excellence.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution and eligibility for Maryland veterinary licensure.
  • Clinical skills in small animal medicine, including physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment planning, and case management.
  • Competence in routine surgical and dental procedures, anesthesia, and pain management, with attention to patient safety and comfort.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to educate pet parents, collaborate with team members, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Ability to maintain detailed, accurate medical records and follow hospital protocols aligned with AAHA standards.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement in patient care.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital environment; prior experience in an AAHA-accredited or similar practice is a plus.
  • Willingness to participate in scheduled shifts, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed to support hospital operations.
