User Experience DesignerThe IT User Experience department at our client is dedicated to improving the usability and overall experience of internal and customer facing applications. We are committed to fostering a design and development environment that places the end user at the center of all IT related processes and products. As a part of this commitment, we are seeking a skilled UX designer who can rapidly design user interfaces for an interactive configurator application.An ideal candidate will have worked as part of a cross-functional team and be able to effectively contribute to the design of consistent and reusable patterns.
Interest in test-driven iteration.Essential duties and responsibilities:Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to develop and execute interactive and visual designWork directly with internal stakeholders and clients, as part of a cross-functional agile team, to interpret and understand unique user and business needsDocument requirements during sprint planning meetings and produce annotated wireframes for client approvalConduct competitive analysis for product design, documenting competitive functions and featuresQuickly move from requirement gathering to concept designRapidly develop working prototypes to communicate with key stakeholdersParticipate in daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectivesPlan and execute usability testingDemonstrates the following skills and behaviors:Strong analytical skills with attention to detailBasic understanding of general good software development practicesMaintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential applications in the digital product design spaceRapid iteration of design conceptsWillingness to collaborate on ambiguous problems, in real-timeProficient understanding of browser compatibility constraintsGood interpersonal and communication skillsA driven personality, and ability to work with minimal supervisionAbility to deliver on-time, on-budget, quality deliverables within a Scrum development teamRequired knowledge and experience:Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Graphic Design, Digital Product Design, or related field4+ years in a UX design role for software and web applicationsA portfolio of client work in the digital product design spaceDemonstrate understanding of user-centered design, web and mobile app principals, and the value of user testing/feedbackFirm understanding of UX best practicesExcellent communication skills, written and verbalExperience presenting creative vision and recommendations to clients.
