Program Overview
Are you an IMG seeking ABR-certification through the 4-Year DR Alternate Pathway program? The University of Washington is currently accepting applications to our Alternate Pathway program! We have open positions for the academic year and beyond and would be more than happy to see your inquiries and applications come through. Some highlights about our program:
- Located in beautiful Seattle, Washington, we have world‑class teaching faculty, state of the art facilities, fascinating clinical cases, a comprehensive cancer center, large pediatric hospital, and a level 1 trauma center.
- Participating programs include Abdominal Radiology, Neuroradiology, Nuclear Medicine, Pediatric Radiology, Cancer Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging, Emergency/Trauma Radiology, Musculoskeletal Radiology, PET/CT, and Theranostics.
- Our program constructs all 4 years of the pathway upfront, easing any uncertainty about your future towards board-eligibility.
- Our large Pathway program, consisting of 25+ Alternate Pathway fellows and residents, means a supportive network of peers and faculty to aid your training and future endeavors. We strive to continuously improve our program.
- Eligible for new J-1 visa sponsorship, transferring J-1 visa sponsorship, and transferring H-1B visa sponsorship.
Eligibility/Training Requirements
Complete training requirements in a non-U.S., non-Canadian country and provide documentation with start and end dates. Training must include:
- One year of clinical training
- A minimum of three years of DR training in a residency program
Provide documentation verifying your ability to practice radiology independently in the country where you were trained or board certified (if applicable).
- If you were trained in India, you don’t need to provide proof of board certification. You’ll need to hold an MBBS+DNB and/or MD degree, as India does not issue “certification” from a national organization.
- ?If you completed training outside of India, you’ll need to provide documentation of your certification and the duration of your residency.
