American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year of cardiovascular OR experience for a 13-week travel assignment at a Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital in Minnesota.


Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of CV OR experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • NBSTSA or NCCT national certification required
  • Epic/Excellian EMR experience required
  • Proficiency in required CVOR case types including CABG, TAVR, VAD, ECMO, AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, EVAR, TEVAR, femoral popliteal bypass, and mitral valve replacement
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • License required if applicable; candidates must have Minnesota license in hand or be prepared to apply for MN licensure upon offer acceptance
  • One supervisor reference required for consideration
  • Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • Must be able to pass a background check; open cases will prevent proceeding
  • Fingerprinting (LiveScan) is required per Minnesota state law and must be completed as early as possible, as results can take 1 day to 3-4 weeks

Responsibilities

  • Work in a short-term acute care hospital CVOR setting with 6 total ORs, including 4 standard ORs, 1 hybrid OR, and 1 peripheral vascular (PV) OR
  • Required cardiac surgery cases include CABG (on/off pump), AVR, MVRR, TVRR, aortic aneurysm/dissection, total artificial heart, heart transplant, LVAD implantation, minimally invasive valve replacement, and transcatheter mitral/aortic/tricuspid valve replacement
  • Required vascular surgery cases include endovascular and open procedures such as AAA, thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysm with fenestrated grafts, endarterectomy, bypass for peripheral artery disease, amputation, and ECMO decannulation and repositioning
  • Preferred case experience includes general, endo/laparoscopic, vascular, thoracic, bariatric, and transplant procedures
  • Shifts available include days (6:45-15:15 or 9:30-18:00) and evenings (14:45-23:15) on a 5x8-hour schedule
  • On-call required up to 2 weekdays per week and up to 2 weekends per month, with holiday call as needed
  • Charts using Excellian/Epic; experience with this system is required
  • No floating to sister facilities required
  • Facility is a 672-bed Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility for this position
  • Parking is available at a flat rate of $0.55/hour
  • Pre-start modules are required and must be completed before the assignment begins; completion is recorded by transcripts
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates who previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been away for at least 3 months from their last shift worked before being considered
  • RTO is ideally no more than 5 days for the duration of the contract
  • Candidates may be asked to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities as needed
