Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a MedSurg/Telemetry position requiring 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry experience and an active CA RN license.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (PALS preferred)
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in MedSurg/Telemetry required
• Previous Epic EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• LTAC experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and chest tube management
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and management of dysrhythmias
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in the MedSurg/Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:5 for MedSurg and 1:4 for Telemetry
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Cardiac monitoring and telemetry patient population including CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and cardiac drip management
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide holistic, individualized nursing care including assessment, care planning, education, and transitions of care for acute patients
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate patient-centered care plans
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to newly hired staff as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and uphold patient confidentiality
• Must live within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate rate
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
