Description
American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN for a night-shift 3x12 position requiring a TX or compact RN license and at least 2 years of telemetry experience.
Details
- 36-bed Telemetry unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12 schedule from 19:00 to 07:00
- Float required to units of equal acuity
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral/PICC line care
- Experience with blood product administration and heparin protocols
- Skilled in cardiac drip management (no titration) and PCA
- Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and remote telemetry monitoring
- Knowledge of BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with tracheostomy care and oxygen administration
- Experience caring for CVA, spinal cord injury, and cardiac surgery patients preferred
- Skilled in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including use of rapid response/code teams
- Manage feeding tubes and surgical drains as needed
- Care for post-MI and pre/post cardiac catheterization patients
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible
- Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
