Travel RN - Labor & Delivery

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position on night shift, requiring CA RN licensure and prior charge experience preferred.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (AHA or ARC only)
• Experience with EFM (external fetal monitoring) required
• Skilled in labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation and recovery, and sterile vaginal exams
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care in the delivery room
• Any charting system experience accepted

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit within a community hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• 13-week assignment length
• Responsibilities include triage of obstetrical patients, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum assessments
• Pain management duties including epidural anesthesia support and PCA use
• Adherence to isolation precautions and PPE protocols required
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
• RTO limited to 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Lab work must be completed within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
