Travel RN - Emergency Dept - Pediatric ED

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Emergency Department position requiring at least 1 year of pediatric ED experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of current Pediatric ED RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC (PALS accepted in lieu of ENPC)
• CEN and CPEN certifications preferred
• US IV competency preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in the Pediatric Emergency Department of a hospital setting
• 23-bed unit with a team of approximately 45 staff members
• Day shift staffed with 4 RNs, 1 charge nurse, 5 mid-shift RNs, 1 mid-shift unit clerk, and 1 EMT
• Night shift staffed with 4 RNs, 1 charge nurse, and 1 EMT
• Patient ratios of 4:1, increasing to 5:1 during surge
• Uses GE monitors for patient monitoring
• Uses Meditech EMR
• 13-week assignment with a 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM shift schedule
• Common procedures include port access, IV starts, venipuncture, nasal wash, point of care glucose testing, EKG, and Foley catheter placement
• Provide emergency nursing care to pediatric patients in a high-acuity ED setting
