American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with ARRT registration and current BLS certification for a 13-week hospital assignment.

Requirements

  • ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology required; ARRT registration in CT preferred
  • Active SC or compact license required, if applicable
  • Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
  • High school diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Allied Health program preferred
  • Completion of an accredited Computed Tomography Program preferred
  • One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Ability to perform and teach CT exams to produce diagnostic quality images preferred
  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, and lift/move patients, with intermittent lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Requires frequent reaching, fine motor dexterity, and corrected hearing/vision within normal range
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours

Responsibilities

  • Hospital-based CT Scan unit
  • Days/Evenings shift schedule
  • 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
  • May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on departmental needs
  • Uses Cerner for charting
  • Potential to float to a sister hospital nearby
  • Produce computerized tomography radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered by physicians to assist in diagnosis of disease or injury
  • Assist radiologists with procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists as assigned
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures using age-appropriate care techniques
  • Instruct and prepare patients for procedures, assist with informed consent, and communicate discharge instructions to families
  • Accurately enter orders, diagnoses, and clinical history into the computer system and communicate effectively with radiologists
  • Follow radiation safety protocols in accordance with ALARA principles and adhere to DHEC, TJC, and hospital safety policies
  • Support departmental goals and maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information
  • Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date, followed by a required 30-60 day break before starting a new assignment
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this role
