American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with ARRT registration and current BLS certification for a 13-week hospital assignment.
Requirements
- ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology required; ARRT registration in CT preferred
- Active SC or compact license required, if applicable
- Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
- High school diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Allied Health program preferred
- Completion of an accredited Computed Tomography Program preferred
- One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
- Ability to perform and teach CT exams to produce diagnostic quality images preferred
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, and lift/move patients, with intermittent lifting up to 50 lbs
- Requires frequent reaching, fine motor dexterity, and corrected hearing/vision within normal range
- Must be able to work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours
Responsibilities
- Hospital-based CT Scan unit
- Days/Evenings shift schedule
- 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
- May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on departmental needs
- Uses Cerner for charting
- Potential to float to a sister hospital nearby
- Produce computerized tomography radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered by physicians to assist in diagnosis of disease or injury
- Assist radiologists with procedures and supervise student Radiologic Technologists as assigned
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures using age-appropriate care techniques
- Instruct and prepare patients for procedures, assist with informed consent, and communicate discharge instructions to families
- Accurately enter orders, diagnoses, and clinical history into the computer system and communicate effectively with radiologists
- Follow radiation safety protocols in accordance with ALARA principles and adhere to DHEC, TJC, and hospital safety policies
- Support departmental goals and maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information
- Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date, followed by a required 30-60 day break before starting a new assignment
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
