Methodist Transplant Institute seeks a full-time Transplant Hepatologist to join our dynamic practice and team.

The ideal candidate is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and seeks academic opportunities within a strong, clinically focused program. The role is suitable for a mid‑career transplant‑focused hepatologist seeking a well‑compensated clinical position with academic potential and a balanced lifestyle.

Location: Memphis, TN.

Eligibility

  • Completed an ACGME‑approved resident program in Internal Medicine.
  • Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
  • Completed an ACGME fellowship in Transplant Hepatology (preferred).
  • Experience in clinical care on a liver transplant program and sufficient training to qualify as a UNOS primary physician of a liver transplant program (preferred).
  • Clinical research experience and medical administration experience are additional preferences.

Clinical Duties

  • Provide outpatient clinic coverage with a mix of new and established patients.
  • Perform endoscopy services such as ERCP if trained, and care of pre‑ and post‑transplant patients.
  • Maintain a scheduled on‑call duty of no more than one of every three weekends on inpatient services.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, attend program‑associated conferences and meetings, and collaborate with transplant team physicians for 24‑hour coverage.
  • Render consultative services to referring physicians during clinic hours by phone or in person.
  • Work with three advanced practice providers to support patient care delivery.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology.
  • Unrestricted Tennessee MD or DO license, or ability to obtain one.
  • U.S. ACGME residency completion.
