DescriptionWe are currently seeking qualified candidates for consideration to fill an open Lead Engineer - Transmission Lines position in our Client's office in Rochester, NY. This position will have a in-office schedule.The Program Management Services Division at LaBella provides comprehensive management services for complex projects and multi-year capital programs. Project teams are established to provide a customized mix of business consulting, project management, financial control and monitoring, administrative, and technical support services. The Lead Engineer will support capital projects associated with Transmission Lines.A successful candidate will be self- motivated with the willingness to learn, train, and continue building their knowledge through classes in the electrical industry.
The candidate will be trustworthy and punctual have a positive attitude, flexibility, and possess leadership skills.Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.ResponsibilitiesConductor SelectionStructure recommendationsInsulation, A/C interference, static wire, grounding studiesLine Design: Plans and Profiles, Cross section detailsLiDAR and aerial photo dataUtilization of wetlands, vernal pool and sensitive resource data in line and structure design and placementDetailed estimate and probability modelingOther studies as required to complete the projectsLead overall transmission line design for all capital projectsReview/Design transmission line plan and profile drawings using PLSCAD to ensure compliance with Client TM standards and NESC/other standardsDrive the project plan for transmission line routing and strategy, specifically:Decide whether to rebuild existing lines or obtain additional right of way based on area congestion and local politics/permitting issuesDetermine required structure designs based on design constraintsDetermine routing in and around into congested stations to optimize design/reliability and minimize the number of crossingsRequirements5-10 years of transmission engineering experienceBachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technologyPE preferredBenefitsBody, mind, and wallet—LaBella’s benefits support a holistic approach to your health and wellness, creating the foundation for physical, mental, and financial well-being.
