This isn't just a job, it's a chance to lead progress, drive meaningful impact, and leave a legacy of smarter, more connected transportation networks.HDR is currently seeking a Transit Section Manager to join our Minnesota/Wisconsin team.Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Transit Section Manager, we'll count on you to:Lead a team of transit staff supporting projects related to bus rapid transit, passenger rail, commuter rail, light rail, and streetcar systems and facilitiesManage and work on projectsCollaborate with Freight Rail and Freight and Transportation Facilities teams on a regular basis to coordinate on workload planning, marketing, and project developmentTake responsibility for operations of production of the section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing supportCoordinate staffing with Area Market Sector/Business Class/Professional Services LeadersWork cooperatively with local and national Market Sector/Business Class/Professional Services leadership in coordinating and reporting on local and national marketing/production effortParticipate in strategic growth initiativesTrack financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedulePlan and manage team overhead budgetWork with business group managers, business development leaders, area market sector leads, accounting, project coordinators, and management as necessary for project deliveryFunction in various project roles such as Principal in Charge, Project Manager, Subject Matter Expert or Advisor on projects in addition to management responsibilitiesTake administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sectionsCollaborate with Area Transit Market Sector Lead and be involved in marketing, planning, proposals, negotiations and interviewsBe directly involved with public clients in marketing, project production and related issuesSee that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project managementDevelop staff's project management skillsAssist with workshare management with other AreasAssist PMs with Commercial and Risk ManagementImplement, monitor and support company policyRecruit, hire, train, develop and manage technical personnelManage and develop multidisciplinary teamsMaintain a working knowledge of public agencies in Minnesota and WisconsinRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceA minimum of 10 years experienceProfessional registration, license or certification may be required based on roleStrong communication and listening skillsAbility to handle multiple assignmentsGood leadership and organizational skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustHDR is our company.
