Their systems harness radioisotope heat to support critical missions across space, ocean, and terrestrial applications. Team members will have a direct impact on enabling critical commercial and national security missions from the depths of the ocean, to the surface of the moon, and in some of the most challenging environments here on Earth.The JobOur client is seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer to support the mission-oriented efforts of developing and bringing to market Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS) technologies.FunctionsCreate test designs and test procedures for development, qualification, and acceptance testing work based on provided test requirements from the Systems Engineering TeamContribute to building and operating test racks that integrate power supply, data acquisition, communications, and control logic, while coordinating build processes when neededCoordinate commissioning of complex hardware both in-house and at other test facilitiesSupport planning efforts and maintain schedule adherence for test activities, as well as their integration with an overall test and equipment delivery scheduleWitness and review supplier acceptance testing and reportsTroubleshoot issues in real time and provide solutions for non-conformanceCoordinate activities for design, assembly, and commissioning of test equipment and required support equipment with internal and external stakeholdersPerform data analysis of test results and generate test reportsQualificationsB.S. or higher in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from accredited university, 5+ years relevant experienceExperience interfacing with design requirements, verification and validationFamiliarity with environmental testing including vibration, shock, thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, impact and puncture, leak tests, EMI/EMCKnowledge of control systems and associated operating software (Labview or similar) as well as mechanical test equipment (tooling, calipers, pressure systems, sensors)Experience performing activities under a quality standard (such as NQA-1, AS 9100, or similar)Experience in the aerospace and/or nuclear industry is desiredProven success in coordinating work across stakeholders at test sitesSelf-starter and possess ability to coordinate and contribute with minimal directionCapable of meeting deadlines and performing under pressure in an uncertain environmentDemonstrates effectiveness in working independently or collaboratively as part of a teamMust have excellent written and oral communication skillsAdditional RequirementsPosition requires in-office presence in Seattle (South Lake Union) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, remote work is optional on Mondays and FridaysMonday/Friday in-office presence may be required pending ongoing project activitiesTravel: Travel is required, <25%Motor Abilities: Sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands)Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 50 poundsRepetitive work: ProlongedSpecial Senses: Visual and audio focused workWork Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standing/sitting working environment of >8 hrs/dayExport ControlsApplicants for employment at the company must be a U.S. person.
