Test Engineer P&C 1Duration: 12 months (Possible Extension/Conversion)Location: 1810 Congressman Dickinson Dr., Montgomery AL 36109Shift Timing: Mon – Fri Standard ShiftDuties & Responsibilities:Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devicesPerform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices.Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation.Assist assigned project lead with field assignments Install, program, and maintain protection and control relays and devices.Participate in process hazard analyses.Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices.Engineers are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing protection and control systems. These systems are used to monitor protection systems in power substations.Engineers must have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as well as computer skills.They use this knowledge to install, repair, and maintain protection and control systems that may include microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, pumps, motors, etc.Required Skills and Qualifications :High school diploma or equivalent 4-year BS Engineering Degree (Electrical Preferred).0-3 years’ experience in Engineering or similar role Familiar with Microsoft Office applications Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs Experience with AC and DC systems.Successful candidates must live within a reasonable commute to the assigned APC office location.
