This entry-level engineering role is ideal for candidates with a strong electrical engineering foundation who are seeking hands-on field and substation experience within a utility environment.The role requires strong analytical skills, technical aptitude, and a safety-first mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesProtection & Control SystemsInstall, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying systemsPerform calibration and functional testing of protection relays and associated devicesInstall and program microprocessor relays and control equipmentSupport substation protection system monitoringTechnical Equipment ExposureWork with equipment and systems including:Microprocessor relays (SEL, GE, ABB, etc.)Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)SensorsPumps and motorsAC and DC control systemsField & Project SupportAssist assigned project leads with field assignmentsSupport development and maintenance of protection and control documentationMaintain knowledge of current industry trends and best practicesCompliance & SafetyEnsure work is performed in accordance with safety standards and company policiesSupport hazard analysis and safe work proceduresRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentBachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)0–3 years of related engineering experienceAbility to read and interpret electrical schematicsWorking knowledge of PLCs and HMIsExperience with AC and DC systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsMust reside within reasonable commuting distance to assigned APC office location
