Distribution System Operator (Analyst-III)
Location: ONSITE — 3356 Marshall Street NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418 Bill rate: $100/hr, Max Pay: $70.42/hr Work Schedule: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM CST, Monday through Friday, onsite only, no remote/hybrid Contract Length: 12 months, potential to extend/convert to full-time union role Team: Team of 6, works with Control Center, Outage Coordination, and Grid Operations teams Interview Process: 1 virtual panel round with 2-3 people What they'll be doing: Writing switching requests for grid work Coordinating with the control center Developing switch plans for the NSP distribution territory Applying safety tags and clearances Ensuring safe work practices are followed; reviewing and scheduling switch plans, handing off to control center and following up Must-Have Skills: 3-5 years of Distribution electrical system knowledge Utility industry experience Field experience (lineman / troubleman strongly preferred) Understanding of switching procedures, safety tags, clearances, grid operations Basic engineering or electrical theory knowledge Preferred: Oracle NMS experience Distribution System Operating Group (DSOG) experience at another utility Red flags: job hopping (less than a year at multiple different jobs) Additional requirements: 3-5+ years experience required.
