Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As part of a hardworking team of specialists, you'll perform environmental testing of flight hardware for various spaceflight systems. In this hands-on position you'll work directly with a small team operating and maintaining the environmental test equipment we use for development and acceptance testing of flight hardware.Responsibilities:Perform hands-on thermal, vibration, shock, and vacuum testing on flight hardware in accordance with MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016, and MIL-STD-1540 under the direction of senior technicians or engineersWork safely with test, flight, and safety-critical hardware, tools, and shop equipmentSupport setup and operation of high energy systems (e.g., high pressure gas and electrical) under supervisionOperate and maintain environmental test equipment including data acquisition systems, environmental chambers, vibration systems, and instrumentation systemsConfigure test setups, fixtures, and instrumentation per test plans and standardsSupport generation of test reports, procedures, and work instructions under guidance from senior staffMaintain cleanliness of test equipment and test labParticipate in Process/Job Hazard AssessmentsCommunicate issues, observations, and status updates clearly to team leads and engineersWilling to work weekends and overtime as required by test operationsQualifications:High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience1+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical assemblies, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments (torque wrenches, calipers, DMMs)1+ years of experience in a test lab, manufacturing, or aerospace environmentBasic familiarity with data acquisition systems and electronic test equipmentAbility to follow written test procedures and work instructions with attention to detailStrong safety mindset with the ability to identify and report hazardous conditionsStrong communication, interpersonal, and self-starting skillsProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteAble to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periodsMust be a U.S.

citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumDesired:A.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Instrumentation, or related STEM fieldExposure to one or more environmental test disciplines: thermal, thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, or acousticExperience testing aerospace or similarly high-traceability hardware (aerospace, medical, defense)Familiarity with test instrumentation and control components including thermocouples, RTDs, accelerometers, strain gauges, pressure transducers, flow meters, and load cellsAbility to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and technical reportsExperience with FOD/ESD controls and clean room requirementsExperience with high pressure, hydraulic, or cryogenic system handlingFamiliarity with 5S and lean principlesAvailability for weekend shifts or overtime as requiredPosition level commensurate with experienceBase Pay Range for:WA applicants is $24.74 - $34.63Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
