About the PositionAs a Team Lead in the Renewables Studies group, you will be responsible for managing a team comprised of engineers responsible for power systems modelling and analysis. A Team Lead’s primary responsibility will be the accurate, timely, and quality completion of electrical engineering scopes assigned to the team. This will include coordinating with both internal and external project stakeholders to ensure project alignment. Team Leads will be a mentor and coach to team members helping them grow individually as professionals. The Team Lead will be accountable for the financial, schedule and quality of projects assigned to their teams and work completed by their team members.Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000 / yearThe salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.This opportunity is available to both local / in-office (Lakewood, CO) and full-time remote candidates.Essential ResponsibilitiesPerforms and manages detailed electrical studies primarily for renewable facilities that encompass the plan power system in support of the Solar, BESS, Wind and Substation design teams (Short Circuit, Load Flow, Harmonics, Loss & Transient Over-Voltage to name a few)Provides coaching and mentorship for their team members, ensuring that team members are developing professionally and that their career goals are being metConduct reviews and QA/QC for electrical studies in support of design teamsServe as a primary client contact for communication pertaining to renewable studies project scope assigned to you and your team.Provide regulatory compliance services (PRC/MOD) for all project design phases from conceptual design through project testing and commissionPrepares a variety of documents and reports associated with projects includingassisting the group director with proposals cost estimates, and budget reportsMay occasionally assist with performing equipment, control system, communications, troubleshooting, and relay field testing and start-up and commissioning servicesMaintains a strong understanding and applications of applicable Codes and StandardsSupport group Technical Consultants in establishing study templates, methodologies, and best practices for electrical system studiesServe as SME’s for study software related questions and troubleshootingMaintains high ethical and professional standardsAttends conferences, training workshops, seminars, regular undergraduate, andgraduate classes as appropriate for advancement and as required to maintain quality ofwork.Attends safety training and follow safety rules and guidelinesOther job-related responsibilities as assignedMust HaveEducation: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferredExperience: 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experienceLicensure: FE is required, PE is preferredProficiency in power system modeling software such as:Steady State software: (PowerFactory; ETAP; Nice to have: SKM Power Tools; Easypower; Aspen; Windmil)System Protection & Arc Flash software: (ETAP; Power Factory; Nice to have: CAPE, Aspen, SKM Power Tools; Easy Power)Grounding software: (CDEGS; WinIGS)Interconnection & Dynamic Modeling: (PSSe, PSLF)Cable Ampacity software: (Cymcap)Transient Studies software: (PSCAD)Possesses effective written and oral communications skillsGood interpersonal and people skillsApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisWorking ConditionsWork Environment:Work is performed in an office setting, and some field work may be requiredTravel:Typical: 15 – 25%Physical Activities:Must be able to lift 25lbs.About NEI Electric Power EngineeringServing Others.
