Anodizing Team LeadLocation: Elkhart, INDepartment: AnodizingReports to: Anodizing FacilitatorShift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PMOvertime: Must be willing and able to work mandatory overtime as neededStarting Pay: $23.00 to start with opportunity to earn more.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Anodizing Team Lead to support second shift operations. This role is responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring quality standards are met, and providing leadership and direction to anodizing team members.The ideal candidate will have hands-on anodizing experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team OversightLead, coach, and support anodizing team members on 2nd shiftAssign daily tasks and ensure proper staffing across the lineMonitor employee performance, attendance, and productivityProvide on-the-job training and ensure team members follow established proceduresPromote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all safety requirementsProduction & QualityEnsure aluminum extrusions are anodized to customer specificationsVerify team members are following documented work instructionsMonitor tank concentrations and process conditions in coordination with Lab TechniciansConduct in-process inspections to ensure parts are properly racked and meet quality standardsAddress quality issues promptly and escalate concerns as neededOperations & Process ControlCoordinate workflow to meet production schedules and deadlinesEnsure accurate production records and reporting of processed loadsTroubleshoot process issues and support continuous improvement effortsAssist with line adjustments, racking techniques, and process changesSupport cross-functional communication between shifts, supervisors, and departmentsSafety & ComplianceEnforce PPE requirements and safe work practicesEnsure compliance with chemical safety, confined space, and Right-to-Know programsConduct basic equipment and crane inspections and report issuesMaintain a clean and organized work environmentQualifications & SkillsPrevious anodizing experience required (aluminum extrusion preferred)Prior leadership or team lead experience strongly preferredStrong understanding of anodizing processes, chemicals, and quality standardsAbility to read and interpret production instructions and specificationsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to identify process issues and take corrective actionBasic math skills for calculating processing times and adjustmentsAbility to operate and train others on overhead crane systemsKnowledge of racking techniques and load adjustmentsExperience using measurement tools such as an Isoscope Meter (or willingness to learn)Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentFrequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs)Occasional bending, kneeling, and reachingWork around moving mechanical partsLoud environment with no air conditioningRequires strong visual abilities, including color differentiationWhy Join Us?We are committed to building a people-first culture based on our core values: Safety, Integrity, Respect, Communication, Trust, Diversity, Accountability, CelebrationEmployee Benefits:Competitive pay (based on experience; leadership premium included)Paid vacationMedical, dental, and life insurance401(k)Tuition reimbursementAbout UsBonnell Aluminum is North America's premier manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions.
