Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as a Tax Senior Manager might include the following:

  • Lead and oversee complex tax engagements for corporate, partnership, and individual clients.
  • Prepare, review, and sign individual, business, and other types of tax returns for clients in various entity types and industries.
  • Work with the tax team to ensure the various components of the tax process are performed, including tax planning, client interaction, and special tax projects.
  • Analyze tax situations from multiple angles to maximize tax benefits.
  • Develop solutions and communicate those solutions to the engagement team and client.
  • Manage client relationships by monitoring client needs and delivering value in professional services.
  • Manage client billing for accounting services provided.
  • Guide staff through complex tax issues and help them build strong communication skills, ownership, and a client-first mindset.
  • Actively mentor and develop staff through training and timely feedback.
  • Support business development by identifying prospective clients, preparing proposals, and representing the firm at events.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.
  • 7+ years of public accounting tax experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
  • Strong client relationship skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
  • Strong communication skills that foster trust and collaboration with colleagues, clients, and partners at every level.
  • Enjoy leading, mentoring, and helping others grow.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership and initiative.

Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

Compensation

$164,000 - $196,000. Our compensation philosophy emphasizes competitive and equitable pay. We comply with all local/state regulations regarding displaying ranges. Final compensation decisions depend on factors such as geography, experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
