We're looking for a talented CPA in the tax space who loves client interactions, helping others and the career advancement of public accounting firm space, but could go without the billable hours and 70 hour weeks during busy season. Our client is in the private wealth advisory space and takes "quality over quantity," approach to work.
The right candidate will have a desire grow their career upward and knowledge outward. Our client enjoys over 20% YOY growth. They have an upbeat, energetic culture, centrally located just west of downtown Minneapolis.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Partner with the Chief Investments Officer and Financial Advisors for client advisory purposes.
- Advise high net-worth individuals, small business owners and family office clients on important tax issues, as well as finance and accounting best practices.
- Research complex federal and state tax issues and prepare analysis and recommendations.
- Review of clients files and general ledgers and delivery of analysis to client.
- Complete accounting and bookkeeping with accordance to GAAP.
- Prepare and present tax strategies to leadership.
- Prepare and review annual tax filings.
- Manage and develop a team of four people in tax and accounting related duties.
- Maintain and organize digital and physical financial records.
- Assess all business transactions and prepare accurate reports on your findings.
- Provide development and guidance to junior tax staff.
- Coordinate with employees on income tax research and planning.
Required Skills/Abilities
- CPA required.
- 5+ years of client facing tax experience with a variety of tax and accounting issues, preferably handling increasingly complex tax issues over that time.
- Strong professional communication, both verbal and written.
- Current or recent client facing tax experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
- Ability to interview and work on-site.
