Our impressive portfolio includes nearly 50 million square feet of medical outpatient buildings, lab and life science facilities and Senior Assisted Living centers throughout the country.Role Overview The Tax Manager will lead and manage tax compliance for a publicly traded REIT, with primary responsibility for REIT qualification, partnership tax reporting, and multi-state compliance.
This role is heavily execution- and review-focused, ensuring accurate and timely filings across a complex entity structure.Key ResponsibilitiesManage REIT compliance, including preparation and review of quarterly and annual REIT testing and distribution requirementsOversee preparation and review of federal and multi-state REIT and partnership tax returns, including tiered structures and operating partnershipsReview Schedule K-1s, allocations, and investor reportingEnsure timely filing of REIT, partnership, and corporate tax returns, extensions, and estimated paymentsCoordinate multi-state compliance, including composite filings and withholding requirementsManage internal tax team and external tax advisors and review deliverablesRespond to tax notices, audits, and information requestsPartner with accounting, legal, and investment teams on tax-related inquiries and to ensure accurate tax reporting dataPosition Requirements5–8+ years of tax experience within public accounting and/or private industry, with emphasis on REIT and partnership tax complianceStrong technical knowledge of REIT qualification rules and partnership taxationExperience with multi-state tax filings and apportionmentCPA preferredExperience in a publicly traded REIT or real estate platform strongly preferredStrong Excel and tax compliance software experienceKey AttributesDetail-oriented with strong review capabilitiesOrganized and deadline-driven in a high-volume compliance environmentPractical, execution-focused mindsetStrong leadership and communication skillsSalary of $155k to $195k plus generous cash incentives
