This role will report to the Engineering Manager, Systems Engineering.In this role you will:Develop, implement, and enforce design processes and tools to support RPS and facility design work, to include tracking and managing design documentation, requirements, and open itemsDevelop system requirements and specification documentsCoordinate diverse product design, fabrication, and testing teams to develop required design and interface documentation. These teams may be geographically diverse, and a combination of Zeno, National Lab, and subcontractorsEnsure sound Systems Engineering methodology is applied to the design of RPS systems, test equipment, tooling, and integrated systemsManage integration of design processes across contractors, engineering functions, and system design teams to include design control, design change control, and consistent application of design toolsVerify adherence of regulatory and code requirements through the design process and operations planningResponsible for monitoring and ensuring design team (to include Zeno organizations, contractors, subcontractors, and National Labs) performance implements and meets technical requirements through the design lifecycleAssist in schedule planning and technical activity development, as well as ensuring adherence to schedule across groupsGenerate and coordinate design package components for key systems including calculations, reports, drawings, and design specificationsInterface with engineering and project personnel to identify and develop design information and specify system design and performance criteriaKey Qualifications and Skills:B.S. or higher in relevant engineering discipline from accredited university, 3+ years relevant experience to system design and integration skillsDemonstrated experience in developing and implementing Systems Engineering design approach, preferably in an aerospace or nuclear regulatory environmentExperience in implementing integrated design of nuclear systems, extreme temperature environments, and radioactive systems desiredUnderstanding of configuration management principles, as well as knowledge of design control toolsExperience performing activities under a quality standard (such as NQA-1, AS 9100, or similar)Experience in the aerospace and/or nuclear industry is desiredProven success in coordinating work across stakeholders at test sitesSelf-starter and possess ability to coordinate and contribute to design effort with minimal directionCapable of meeting deadlines and performing under pressure in an uncertain environmentDemonstrates effectiveness in working independently or collaboratively as part of a teamMust have excellent written and oral communication skillsJob Functions:Position requires in-office presence in Seattle (South Lake Union) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, remote work is optional on Mondays and FridaysTravel: Travel is required, <10%Motor Abilities: Sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands)Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 15 poundsRepetitive work: ProlongedSpecial Senses: Visual and audio focused workWork Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs/dayCompensation and Benefits:The anticipated salary band for this position is $105,000-$145,000.
