Systems & It Operations ManagerSunstone is hiring a Systems & It Operations Manager to own the day-to-day reliability, access, and usability of our core systems. This is a highly hands-on role for someone who likes solving real problems in messy, evolving environments. You will be the person the team relies on to fix issues quickly, improve how systems work, and make technical operations feel seamless.
You'll operate across systems like Salesforce (HealthCloud), eCW, RealTime, and Google Workspace: troubleshooting issues, managing access, and improving how everything fits together. Our core systems are in place, but they are not yet fully integrated, documentation is incomplete in some areas, and there is significant opportunity to improve workflows, automation, and the overall user experience. This is not a ticket-only IT role, and it's not a pure security/compliance role.
It's a technical operator role with real ownership and impact.Job activities include but are not limited to:You are the day-to-day owner of how our systems function.Diagnose and resolve system issues quickly (access, bugs, broken workflows)Troubleshoot across core systems (Salesforce / HealthCloud, eCW, RealTime, Google Workspace)Identify root causes of recurring issues and fix them at the sourceImprove system reliability, usability, and performance over timeManage user access across all systemsEnsure appropriate (least-privilege) access where possibleOwn onboarding and offboarding workflows (account setup, access removal, transfers)Regularly audit and clean up permissionsAct as the first point of contact for employee IT issuesResolve problems quickly so the team can stay productiveSupport onboarding into systems and toolsImprove how IT support is delivered (faster, less disruptive, more effective)This is not just about resolving tickets—you'll be expected to identify patterns and improve systems so issues don't keep recurring.Own relationship with external IT vendors (e.g., DP Solutions)Reduce reliance on vendors for basic issuesEscalate effectively when neededEvaluate vendor performance and recommend improvementsYou will operate with strong security awareness, especially in a healthcare environment.Maintain good practices around access, permissions, and sensitive dataReduce risk (e.g., overly broad access, unnecessary data exposure)Support implementation of compliance processes (e.g., HIPAA, Vanta)Partner with external experts on security tooling and controlsYou are not expected to design security frameworks, but you should be comfortable working within regulated environments and implementing controls.Improve organization and accessibility of shared filesReduce risk of inappropriate access to sensitive informationMake practical, incremental improvements to structure and usageAvoid large-scale disruptive changes—focus on what actually helps the teamWho you are:Highly execution-oriented—you get things done quickly and reliablyStrong problem solver who can diagnose issues across multiple systemsComfortable working with incomplete information and figuring things out independentlyAble to investigate issues beyond the surface (e.g., permissions, integrations, workflows)Strong judgment around access, security, and tradeoffsClear communicator, especially with non-technical teammatesProactive in identifying and fixing recurring problemsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience5–8 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, technical operations, or a related fieldExperience administering Google Workspace at enterprise levelExperience with CRM, project management, or business operations platformsExperience leading or supporting a major systems implementation or migration projectFamiliarity with user access management, permissions, and system configurationStrong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional project coordination skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in a startup, scaling organization, or other fast-paced environmentExperience with Salesforce and/or Monday.comExperience in a regulated environment (e.g., healthcare, HIPAA, clinical research, fintech)Project Management Professional (PMP) certificationExperience managing vendors, SaaS tools, and technology integrationsPhysical RequirementsA large percentage of time performing computer work is required.
