System Engineer (MSP Experience Required)Location: Ashland, VA or Suffolk, VA Compensation: Up to $95KPosition Overview: We are seeking a skilled System Engineer with experience in Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments to join our team. This is an on-site role, requiring daily presence at one of our locations in Ashland, VA, or Suffolk, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset to deliver outstanding IT solutions and support.Key ResponsibilitiesClient-Facing Duties:Implement new technologies at client sites, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.Educate clients on new systems, providing clear training and thorough documentation.Perform scheduled tasks with precision and maintain a professional workspace.Conduct follow-ups with clients to verify successful project completion and satisfaction.Collaborate with clients to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.Internal Operations:Coordinate with project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget.Offer actionable feedback to internal teams based on client interactions and experiences.Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of implemented systems.Log time and expenses accurately within the ticketing system.Manage and track inventory used during projects, ensuring proper equipment utilization.Participate in weekly team meetings and after-hours support rotations as needed.Pursue ongoing technical and professional development as directed.Maintain and update client contact details and associated documentation.QualificationsExperience:3–5 years of relevant experience in IT system implementation and client-facing roles.Proven ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and client expectations.Strong problem-solving skills and experience with technical troubleshooting.Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.Experience with network installations, including running and activating network lines.Technical Skills:Proficiency with Windows Server (2012, 2016, and 2019).Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.Familiarity with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Hyper-V.Expertise in security system configurations, including firewalls, VLANs, switches, and Wi-Fi systems.Experience with Office 365 and related security systems (preferred).Personal Attributes:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality results.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Travel Requirements:Willingness to travel to client sites as needed, including occasional out-of-state travel for implementations and onboarding.This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth in a dynamic, client-focused IT environment.
