nThe UW Medical Center-Montlake Operating Rooms have an outstanding opportunity for a Surgical Technologist.
nWORK SCHEDULE
n• 40 or 36 hours per week
n• Day, Evening or Night Shift
nPOSITION HIGHLIGHTS

n• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures; obtain, assemble, and arrange sterile instruments and supplies used for surgical procedures; perform scrub role; and maintain patient safety throughout perioperative care.
n• Use effective communication skills to enhance teamwork and customer service; and be flexible and proactive to support an efficient and effective surgical environment.
n• Inherent to success in this position is organization, desire to work in a team-oriented academic medical setting, capability to stay abreast of current developments relevant to the position, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and knowledge of the duties of a Surgical Technologist.

nPRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
n• Take the lead in the patient care experience by prepping and maintaining our Operating Rooms for surgical procedures
n• Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and partners, from our scheduling team to surgeons
n• Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, problem-solving environment while maintaining vigilance of instruments and supplies used during surgical procedures
n• Perform scrub role while supporting patient safety a sterile environment
n• Support of post-operative tasks, including removal of contaminated instruments, decontamination, sterilization and turnover of the Operating Room
nREQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
nCompletion of a Surgical Technologist program AND one year of experience assisting clinical staff in a variety of operative procedures in an operating room environment OR equivalent education/experience.
nLEGAL REQUIREMENT
nRegistered by the State of Washington as a Surgical Technologist, or licensed in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse or Physician.
