Job Description
A Surgical Technologist is a member of the surgical team who works with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibilities before, during and after surgery.
PAY RANGE: $31.06 - $39.63
*The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Job Requirements
1.Education: Associate's degree in a health related field preferred. Fulfills the educational requirements for completion of a nationally and NYS accredited educational program for surgical technologists and holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally accredited surgical technologist credentialing organization (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) ; or is otherwise qualified per the NYS Public Health Law (i.e., candidate provides evidence that he/she worked as a surgical technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year, occurring within the four years immediately prior to the effective date of January 1, 2015; candidate provides evidence of completing a military surgical technology program).
2. Experience: 2 years of Operating Room experience as a Surgical Scrub Technologist. Management/lead experience preferred.
3. License/Certification Required: CST Certification from a NYS accredited program required; or one or more consecutive years of Surgical Scrub Technologist experience as outlined in the NYS Public Health Law. CPR Certification required
4. Skills: Aseptic Technique, In-depth knowledge of surgical equipment preferred
