Surgical Technologist- 36 Hours/wk- Day Shift (7a-7:30p)

General Summary
Under direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team members, responsible for handling surgical instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during general to moderately complex surgical procedures. Ensures understanding of the assigned surgical procedures, anticipates the needs of the surgeon and team members, and provides service support related to patient preparation, transport, and specific patient care duties to meet safety and comfort needs. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.

Education/Experience Required

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or six (6) months specialized patient care training in the armed forces required.
• Specific knowledge of surgical procedures within the operating room (OR), including practices and techniques in providing patient care and assisting surgeons in the OR.

Certifications/Licensures Required

• Current BLS certification required or become BLS certified within one month of start date.
• Surgical Technologist certification preferred but not required.
• Experience in robotics, ortho, neurosurgery, and trauma.
• Willing to take on-call and work occasional weekends.
