Structural Project Engineer - Hydroelectric ProjectsWe are looking for a Structural Project Engineer to support a portfolio of multi-year hydroelectric facility projects across Western Wisconsin. You will focus on dam reconstruction and infrastructure upgrades, involving complex structural steel and reinforced concrete work in water-based environments. This is a long-term opportunity (estimated 5–6 years) supporting regulated projects, including coordination with federal agencies such as FERC.
You will be an important technical interface between engineering and construction teams, helping ensure quality, safety, and successful project execution. You will follow a hybrid schedule based in Minneapolis, MN, with regular travel to project sites in the Menomonie and Eau Claire, WI area.Key Responsibilities:Provide structural engineering support for hydroelectric dam reconstruction and upgrade projectsBe the on-site technical liaison between engineering, construction, and project management teamsReview structural steel and reinforced concrete designs and construction activitiesSupport issue resolution in the field and ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standardsCollaborate with construction management teams, engineering consultants, and contractorsParticipate in regular site visits (weekly/bi-weekly) to monitor progress and address technical challengesHelp with document management and coordination using SharePoint and project systemsSupport project planning and coordination activities across multiple workstreamsMentor junior staff or internsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited), with a focus in Structural or Civil Engineering5–7 years of experience in structural engineering (steel and concrete design/construction)5+ years of experience supporting construction or infrastructure projectsRead and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentationProficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePointAccess and review native CAD files (MicroStation preferred)Valid driver's license and reliable transportationOur Safety Pledge to You: If you are as committed to your success as we are committed to your safety, then this is the position for you!
