Computer Support EngineerOur vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.Provide best in class computer support for engineering design teamsProvide technical direction and escalation for technologies maintained within the Linux compute spaceDrive innovation and automation of computer solutions both internally and for our customersProvisioning of systems both physical and virtualDrive configuration management through puppetProficient in scripting languages and tools to automate tasks, system builds, and change management (Puppet, Python, shell, etc.)Monitor overall health of the Unix/Linux environment with an emphasis on proactive discovery of potential issues and continually work to improve Linux compute environment through automationPropose and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of systems and servicesMinimum Qualifications:3-5 years managing enterprise RedHat Unix/Linux solutions, preferably large scaleExperience ranging from three to five years in scripting skills (Shell, Python, etc.)Experience ranging from three to five years with virtualization (vmware)Experience ranging from two to three years with computer hardware/maintenance in the data centerAbility to lift 50lbs!Preferred Qualifications:Experience supporting servers in the cloud preferred.Proficient with LDAP configuration and managementIn-depth knowledge of Redhat Kickstart and configuration management tools (puppet preferred)Proven skills in automating systems services and tasks to streamline service and ensure consistencyAI-first mindset with experience applying AI to problem solving and solution developmentOther desirable skills:FlexLm license managementAdvanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve complex problems as well as a strong drive for continuous improvement and demonstrating a commitment to providing excellent customer serviceProject management experienceExperience with revision control systemsStrong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal)Micron is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
