In this role, you will require backend distributed systems expertise, excellent judgment, and strong stakeholder management skills.
You will work closely with partner teams, external organizations, and engineers from various tool and infrastructure teams to understand needs, align roadmaps, and ensure the modeling infrastructure meets the evolving demands of both networking and AI/ML landscapes. Effectively working with geographically distributed teams is also a key aspect of this role.Responsibilities:Lead, mentor, and develop a team of high-performing engineers who design and model the planet-scale networks powering Google's services and those of the Cloud customers.Define and drive the team's technical goals, strategy, and roadmap for modeling infrastructure, exercising strong technical judgment.Actively participate in and guide architectural and design decisions for scalable and reliable service deployments.Manage project priorities and resources effectively, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions in a fluid, ambiguous environment.Cultivate strong relationships and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders and a varied set of user teams.Uphold high standards for system design, code quality, and operational excellence.Advocate best practices for managing and communicating within a remote/hybrid team structure.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
