$80-90k base

Our client, a Denver area-based Manufacturing company is looking to add a Staff Accountant to join their organization. This person will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, month-end close, inventory accounting, and process improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and partnering with operations to drive accurate and timely financial results. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, experience with inventory costing, and the ability to analyze financial data within a multi-location manufacturing environment. Responsibilities for Staff Accountant II in Denver, CO:

• Manage month-end close activities for assigned business units, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Analyze COGS, gross margin, manufacturing overhead absorption, and financial trends to identify variances and opportunities
• Review inventory valuations, standard costs, and manufacturing cost allocations in accordance with GAAP and company policies
• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation calculations
• Analyze inventory activity including receipts, production, adjustments, scrap, and rework to ensure accurate financial treatment

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of accounting experience in preferably manufacturing
• Strong understanding of inventory costing, fixed asset accounting, and GAAP principles
• Experience with standard costing systems and variance analysis preferred
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
• Experience with Dynamics/Great Plains or similar ERP systems preferred
