This senior role includes the leadership and management of transportation projects across Washington, overseeing client relationships, business development, and design team management. You will work closely with local municipalities, and transit agencies, helping to drive KPFF's commitment to quality in regional infrastructure. This role is designed for a proficient civil engineering professional who excels in both engineering and project management.As a Project Manager at KPFF, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from project pursuits and interviews, through initial planning, execution and closeout, ensuring projects meet client expectations, budget, and schedule requirements.

As the Prime Project Manager, you will manage the entire design team consisting of trusted subconsultant partners and talented KPFF design staff.This position will provide the opportunity for you to partner with diverse clients on projects that are transforming and improving our communities. Direct teams in the preparation of complex drawings, specifications, and technical reports.Drive Client Relationships and Business Development: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships and expectations. Identify new business opportunities, contribute to proposal development, and support business growth through networking and project success.Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Oversee the permitting process, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and ensure that all projects meet regulatory standards and industry best practices.Mentor and Lead Project Teams: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members, fostering professional growth and a collaborative project environment.

Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining high standards of quality.Manage Project Schedules, Budgets, and Resources: Develop and maintain project schedules, track project budgets, and allocate resources efficiently to ensure project milestones are achieved within scope and cost parameters.Promote Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay informed of industry advancements and integrate new technologies and methods to enhance project efficiency and client satisfaction.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Washington State requiredMinimum of 10 years of experience in civil/transportation engineering, with a strong background in Washington project management.Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D required; MicroStation, and OpenRoads familiarity is a plus.Knowledge of codes, regulations, and standards applicable to the design and construction of transportation projects in WashingtonPermitting experience with various municipalitiesAbility to manage multiple active projects concurrentlyExcellent communication, teamwork, and collaborative skills are essentialCompetency, accountability, and personal commitment to deliver quality work to our clients, and to mentor younger staffAdditional InformationPhysical Demands:Duties are primarily conducted in a standard office setting, requiring prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer table.Occasionally may be required to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs.Occasionally visiting project and construction sites may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.Traveling to project sites or client meetings, which may involve driving or flying.Compensation:The base salary for this role is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and skills. The expected annual salary for a qualified candidate is $130,000 - $200,000.Additionally, we offer performance-based bonuses to recognize and reward outstanding contributions in each Reporting Center.
