nBasic Qualifications
nBachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months relevant experience.
nCLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
nDepartment of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
nResponsibilities for this Position
nGeneral Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sr. Quality Engineer 3. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
nREPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
nDesigns, implements, and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products
nDesigns methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products
nPerforms analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary
nReviews Documents/Drawings/Instructions for conformance to requirements
nCompares defects against standards and recommends dispositions, and verifies implementation of rework
nCollects, organizes and analyzes project data, generates and/or reviews metrics
nPerforms audits, assigns corrective action, and verifies implementation
nParticipates in project reviews and meetings including technical design reviews, technical peer reviews
nVerifies compliance to defined requirements
nWitnesses and or monitors test activities
nReceives instructions from immediate supervisor
nContact with multiple work groups
nWorks under general supervision
nInterfaces with various engineering disciplines, manufacturing, program management, and other quality personnel
nSome contact with project leaders and other professionals within the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality departments
nWorks as an individual technical contributor on one or multiple project
nParticipates as an active member of the project team
nInterfaces with customer representatives
nProvides resolution to problems of moderate scope
nTravel may be required
nSecurity clearance may be required
nKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
nVery solid knowledge of engineering (i.e., software, electrical, systems, etc) methodologies, tools, and standards
nVery solid knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, CMMI, ISO 14001ASME, ANSI, EIA, etc.
nVery solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
nVery solid written and verbal communications skills
nAbility to think creatively
nAbility to multi-task
nVery solid skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
nVery solid ability to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound quality engineering practices
nVery solid knowledge of interpretation of drawings

nVery solid skills in reporting quality activities, findings, and issues both in writing and verbally
nVery solid interpersonal skills
nVery solid knowledge of use of relevant inspection/measurement tools and techniques
nVery solid computer skills, both desktop software and required factory or engineering tools
nIdentifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
nTarget salary range: USD $94,056.00/Yr. - USD $104,343.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
