We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead the enterprise-wide rollout of an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system across multiple regional health centers and specialized clinical divisions. This role oversees the full project lifecycle, transitioning clinical teams from legacy paper-based charting systems to a modern EHR platform.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in health informatics, public/enterprise health IT implementations, and structured organizational change management (OCM).
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the end-to-end project lifecycle across all five PMI phases from initiation and requirements gathering through testing, training, deployment, and post-go-live support.
• Drive the transition from paper-based clinical documentation to the new EHR solution, collaborating closely with clinical leads, administrative staff, and cross-functional IT groups.
• Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive Project Management Plans, detailed schedules, work breakdown structures, and budget tracking.
• Facilitate Organizational Change Management (OCM) strategies, communication plans, and stakeholder alignment to ensure seamless workflow adoption.
• Coordinate cross-functional technical teams (application, networking, security, data warehouse, and informatics) and manage third-party software vendors.
• Proactively manage project scope, risks, issues, and dependencies using a RAID+ log and structured mitigation plans.
• Monitor project milestones, track deliverables, conduct quality assurance reviews, and deliver executive-level status reports and presentations.
Required Qualifications
• Experience: 7 to 9+ years of progressive, formal IT Project Management experience delivering large-scale technology solutions.
• EHR/EMR Expertise: Demonstrated track record leading EHR/EMR implementation projects, specifically involving migration from paper-based workflows.
• Certifications: Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI, held for a minimum of 5 years.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong background in health IT, health informatics, and clinical systems integration.
• Change Management: Proven experience planning and executing Organizational Change Management (OCM) initiatives.
• Communication & Leadership: Exceptional stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and technical communication skills.
• Location: Must currently reside locally and be able to report on-site two days per week as scheduled.
Required / Desired Skills
• Manage the implementation of a new EHR system, and transition from system implementation to program operations and maintenance Required - 2 Years
• Lead, plan, execute, and monitor all project activities for EHR implementation including project planning and execution, and governance. Required - 2 Years
• Accountable for delivery of all work tasks identified in the Project Management Plan and Project Schedule. Required - 2 Years
• 'Active' PMP Certification from Project Management Institute (PMI) for at least '5' years. Required - 5 Years
• Manage technical initiatives with a complement of project team members throughout the various IT areas, technical complexity, and vendor involvement. Required - 7 Years
• Familiarity and experience with programs and issues related to public health Required - 1 Years
• Experience with organizational change management (OCM) with independent customers. Required - 1 Years
