Overview
Project management of paint related projects. Travel to manufacturing sites will be required. Projects to include:
- Selection, purchase and installation of robots for applying paint to truck bodies. (NC based project)
- Conversion from chrome-phosphate pretreatment to a non-chrome product at one location. (Mexico based project)
- Coordination of adhesive change for windshield installation. (OR and NC based project)
Robot Project Scope
Write specification with inputs taken from plant and current operational /safety standards (recent specifications from other purchases will be made available for reference). Conduct supplier selection and purchasing activities in accordance with DTNA non-productions materials practices. Oversee/coordinate the installation of all equipment and site modifications as required by the project.
Windshield Adhesive Scope
Conduct supplier selection and purchasing activities in accordance with DTNA non-productions materials practices. Oversee/coordinate the installation of all equipment and site modifications as required by the project.
Pretreatment Conversion Scope
Conduct the necessary planning and coordination between the plant and material supplier to support the mechanical and chemical changes for the project. Write scope of work and specifications for mechanical improvements, select supplier for mechanical contractor. Work with the environmental engineering team and waste water processing staff to insure proper handling of all water/byproducts of the conversion. Manage any other contractors necessary for mechanical modifications to the Santiago pretreatment system.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in engineering field (Mechanical, Materials Science, Automation/Electrical )
- Three to five years paint/adhesive experience application and process technology preferred
Spanish language capability would be a plus.
