Amazon Manufacturing Services (AMS) is seeking an experienced Sr. Process Engineer to join our advanced manufacturing team. This role will drive manufacturing excellence through the application of AI/ML technologies, simulation and digital twin development, and advanced process optimization across existing production facilities and new projects.The ideal candidate will leverage reinforcement learning, simulation-based optimization, and data-driven process improvement to maximize throughput, reduce cycle times, and optimize manufacturing operations. This role serves as a critical bridge between manufacturing operations, product engineering, and emerging AI/ML technologies.Key job responsibilities1. Lead data-driven throughput improvement initiatives across current production lines2. Conduct bottleneck analysis using simulation and real-world data to identify constraints3. Execute cycle time reduction projects through AI-optimized process parameters4.
Develop and implement setup optimization strategies to maximize output against existing equipment and labor constraints5. Apply statistical process control and continuous improvement methodologies enhanced by ML insights6. Design and optimize automated manufacturing processes including robotic pick-and-place, material handling, and assembly operations7. Develop control strategies for multi-robot coordination and collaborative automation8. Implement vision systems, sensors, and data collection infrastructure for AI/ML model training9. Bridge simulation-to-reality gap by validating digital twin predictions against production performance10. Build predictive models for throughput optimization, bottleneck identification, and capacity planning11.
Train AI agents to learn optimal manufacturing strategies through simulation before deployment to production12. Work closely with operations team in NPI and optimization of manufacturing processes, cycle times and improvement of safety.About the teamManufacturing Systems Engineering owns the design, build, and continuous improvement of Amazon's advanced manufacturing facilities. We are the engineering team responsible for transforming manufacturing concepts into operational reality, from facility layout and workstation design to process optimization and equipment integration. Our scope spans new facility launches and ongoing expansion and improvement of existing manufacturing operations, supporting advanced manufacturing and assembly of light industrial equipment.
