MANAGER, INDIRECT TAXWe are seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Senior Manager to manage sales and use tax compliance, assist with indirect tax controversy/audit matters, and handle all aspects of tax planning and optimization. RESPONSIBILITIES: Gather and manipulate data and coordinate with external service providers to prepare sales and use tax and VAT returns across all U.S. states and CanadaManage monthly and year-end general ledger account reconciliationStay informed with new products and business growth initiatives to provide guidance and ensure compliance and audit defenseResolve tax notices and similar mattersPerform tax technical research related to sales and use tax and other indirect tax mattersAssist with invoice sales tax reviews and use tax accrual reviewsAssist in validating data and proper calculation and collection of sales tax in all states in Vertex and AvalaraWork with vendors and internal purchasing teams on sales & use tax matters, including claiming various exemptions or abatements, and looking for savings opportunitiesDocument indirect tax positions, issues, and resolutionsAssist with indirect tax audits, refund claims and coordinate responses to various tax authoritiesPrepare and maintain tax calendar for indirect tax licenses, filings, as well as assist in various administrative mattersValidate and manage sales tax exemption certificatesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in accounting, tax or finance10+ years experience as an indirect tax professional in public accounting or at a large multinational companyExperience with MS Excel and tax research tools (i.e. RIA Checkpoint)PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Experience with end-to-end sales and use tax complianceCombination of public accounting and industry experienceExperience working across multiple statesExperience working with sales and use tax software (Vertex)Familiarity with SQLAbility to adapt and thrive in a high paced, ever-changing environmentFamiliarity with indirect taxes related to multiple industries (manufacturing, telecom, retail)ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:This position is based in Hawthorne, CA (Los Angeles area), and requires being onsite full-time – hybrid and remote work will not be consideredWilling to work extended hours and/or weekends as necessaryCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay Range:$175,000.00 - $250,000.00Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
