Responsible for effectively managing claims to closureExplain workers' compensation benefits and procedures to injured employees and coordinate return-to-work opportunitiesInterpret and explain rules, regulations, and procedures to employees and managementCoordinate and facilitate claims process by acting as a liaison between the injured employee, employee's leadership team, insurance third party administrator, medical provider, and consultantWork closely with on-site safety department to conduct initial incident investigation and gather relevant information to file the claim. Identify any apparent red flags and escalate issues as appropriate for prompt and effective resolutionInvestigate, analyze, and determine the extent of the company's exposure with workers' compensation claimsRespond to workers' compensation subpoenas in an expeditious mannerOther duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to: Health and welfare benefits and retirement plan administrationCompany wellness initiatives and employee servicesLeaves of absence administrationBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree5+ years of human resources experience in benefits administration, leave administration, or workers' compensationPreferred Skills and Experience:Human Resources certification (PHR) and professional Human Resources affiliationsAbility to use independent judgment and prioritize workDemonstrated excellence thriving in a fast-paced environmentEffective verbal, written, and presentation communication skillsDemonstrate proficiency with MS Office, especially ExcelAttention to detail and commitment to qualityHighly collaborative style and strong team orientationHighly organized with ability to manage multiple high-priorities in a fast-paced, loosely structured environmentBilingual in Spanish and EnglishAdditional Requirements:This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Hawthorne, CA areaPosition occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours or weekends when neededAbility to travel to other SpaceX offices as neededITAR Requirements:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
