Sr. Accountant, Financial Reporting - Insurance (90% onsite)

Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected base salary of up to 130,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close by preparing journal entries, researching expense variances, and resolving data discrepancies.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and ensure account balances align with expected results.
• Prepare quarterly and annual statutory financial statements and exhibits accurately and on time.
• Complete and submit assigned regulatory filings in a timely and accurate manner.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to understand business needs and propose solutions to improve general ledger accuracy.

• Demonstrate strong understanding of GAAP and/or statutory accounting principles.
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats across departments.
• Manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a willingness to work extra hours when needed.
• Show proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with ERP systems like Oracle and Hyperion.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive and relevant accounting experience.
• Possess strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Identify and implement process improvements and complete ad-hoc projects as assigned.
• Hold a CPA license and have prior insurance industry experience (preferred).
