Take on an impactful role as a Special Education Teacher within a supportive district near Denver, CO. With contract placements available at both elementary and secondary school levels, you'll work closely with dedicated teams to provide personalized support to students in unique learning environments. Each assignment is full-time (37.5 hours per week), with a single school placement for the academic year beginning July 27, 2026, and concluding May 21, 2027.
Current openings include:
- Learning Specialist (elementary, Westminster): Mild to moderate needs, full-time.
- Affective Needs Teacher (middle or high school, Thornton): Serve students with more severe emotional/behavioral disabilities, lead a small paraeducator team, and utilize advanced behavioral strategies. Autism experience, familiarity with CPI, FBA, BIP, and ABA approaches strongly preferred.
- CO Department of Education Teacher license with Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement required.
- Proven skill in either mild/moderate or severe emotional and behavioral disability support.
- Experience with autism, Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans, and de-escalation/CPI/ABA methods for affective needs positions.
- Ability to foster effective relationships, adapt to diverse student needs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organization abilities.
- Willingness to complete district-specific credentialing before start date.
- Deliver individualized instruction and support aligned with IEPs.
- Manage and collaborate with paraprofessionals.
- Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies.
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and work closely with school and district staff.
- Engage with students, families, and related service providers to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
