This position will support students in a Structured Learning Services (SLS) Classroom , a self-contained setting serving students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and similar learning needs.

Position Overview:
The Special Education Teacher will provide specialized instruction, implement individualized education programs (IEPs), and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.
Student Population:
- Elementary-aged students (primarily Kindergarten through 5th Grade)
- Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and similar developmental needs
- Some students may be non-verbal or require significant support
- Some students participate in portions of the general education setting
- New SLS classroom opening for the school year
- Current combined enrollment between two SLS classrooms is approximately 15 students
- Classroom support includes an anticipated team of 2-3 paraprofessionals
- Strong district and administrative support available
- Collaborative and supportive special education team in place
- Develop and implement IEP goals and accommodations
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction
- Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
- Collaborate with families, related service providers, and school staff
- Create a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environment
- Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals to support student success
- Support students' academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional development
- Valid Colorado Special Education teaching license or ability to obtain one
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and diverse learning needs preferred
- Knowledge of IEP development and special education compliance requirements
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Experience supervising or managing paraprofessionals is a plus
