A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a skilled Special Education Teacher to support 4th and 5th grade students in a resource setting near Danbury, CT. This position runs from August 25, 2026, or earlier if available, through June 7, 2027. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:00 pm EST.
Working primarily with small groups, the role focuses on delivering tailored pull-out instruction, with some push-in support as needed. You'll collaborate closely with classroom teachers and support students in achieving their individualized education goals.
What we're seeking:
- Active Connecticut teaching license with 165 or 265 Special Education Certification
- Experience working with upper elementary students, particularly in a resource room environment
- Strong knowledge of IEP implementation, differentiation, and data-driven instruction
- Ability to manage both push-in and pull-out instructional models
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with teachers, students, and families
- Flexibility, patience, and dedication to student growth
- Providing direct instruction to 4th and 5th grade students in small group or individualized formats
- Offering push-in support within general education classrooms when needed
- Planning and adjusting instructional strategies based on student IEPs and progress data
- Coordinating with general education teachers and paraprofessionals
- Monitoring and documenting student progress toward IEP goals
- Communicating regularly with families and team members about student needs and achievements
