Sourcing Manager, FormulationWe are looking for a Sourcing Manager, Formulation to join our Operations team and lead the process of finding the ideal products and partners to drive our growth. The Sourcing Manager, Formulation will build and maintain relationships with suppliers, evaluate manufacturing partners against a performance scorecard, and negotiate costs and other key business terms.

Responsibilities to include:Match product and formulation requirements with suppliers that have the technical expertise, quality systems, regulatory capabilities, capacity, and commercial structure needed to manufacture premium products at scaleLead negotiations with new and existing suppliers to negotiate product COGS and other key termsPrepare RFQs, manage the quoting process, collect, consolidate and analyze quotations, build potential scenarios, and make an informed recommendation that aligns with company objectivesPlan and schedule pre-award meetings and coordinate evaluation process with relevant internal departmentsManage product transition between suppliers on targeted supply base optimization initiativesSupport SRM in maintaining supplier scorecard, monitor supplier performance against target KPIs, providing feedback to help maintain supplier performance databaseIdentify, manage, and develop sources that offer the company the edge needed to succeed in terms of price, quality and safetyEnhance relationships with key business partners to help ensure on time delivery, quality standards are being met, and identify opportunities to improve pricing and termsSupport Supplier Agreement negotiation & inputs, driving for the company's favorable termsExecute on company's strategic business objectives regarding supplier base optimizationMaintain COGs in all systems, targeting negative PPV through product/supplier optimization or negotiationEvaluate contract manufacturers' formulation, blending, filling, testing, scale-up, validation, and packaging capabilitiesAssess ingredient availability, raw material cost drivers, MOQs, shelf-life considerations, testing requirements, and regulatory constraintsLead formulation transfers and supplier qualification activities, including first production runs and manufacturing transitionsIdentify alternate ingredients, raw material suppliers, or manufacturing approaches that improve cost, quality, performance, or supply continuity without compromising product requirementsSupport confidentiality and intellectual property protections related to formulations in partnership with LegalApproximately 25% travel required to visit potential and existing suppliersWhat You Will NeedBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related fieldAt least 3 years of experience managing and sourcing global suppliers with proven success in locating and developing suppliers with world class capabilities3+ years of sourcing, procurement, supplier development, or manufacturing experience involving formulated consumer products, personal care, OTC products, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or similarly regulated productsExperience as lead negotiator with proven performanceStrong project management experience and demonstrated ability to lead multiple cross-functional projects concurrently to completionStrong in all Microsoft Office solutions, especially Microsoft ExcelKnowledge of global sourcing platforms + resourcesVery strong negotiating skillsExperience dealing with suppliers in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United StatesUnderstanding of / experience in working with commodities (raw materials, plastics, resins)Demonstrated ability to understand & breakdown COGs, with a high degree of accuracyWorking knowledge of formulation manufacturing processes, including ingredient sourcing, batching, blending, filling, testing, scale-up, and finished product packagingBasic knowledge of Lean manufacturing best practicesExperience handling requests for information, quotations, proposals and bidding processes, as well as social compliance, quality and capabilities auditsThe disposition to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail and qualityA sense of urgency to quickly, decisively, and efficiently resolve business issuesThe ability to build strong and trusting cross-functional relationshipsExcellent communication skillsCAD experience a plusWho You Will Work WithAs the Sourcing Manager, Formulation, you will work closely with Product Development, Quality, Regulatory, Packaging Engineering, Operations, Supply Planning, Finance, and Legal.
