Solutions ArchitectThis Solution Architect position is a senior role with accountability for solution architecture scoped to business-transformative projects and is involved with projects from inception through implementation. It is a critical architecture role in our Retail Store Technology team and part of our Architecture community focusing on retail and payments domain understanding retail landscape and where it is going in its future state.Job Requirements:Responsible for project-level solution design ensuring the solution design optimally satisfies needs and expectations of the project stakeholdersAdvocates and champions Enterprise Architecture and Domain Architecture recommendations to the project teamResponsible for overall solution quality; security, performance, flexibility, availability, etc.Responsible for deciding technologies to use in the solution not already defined by the Domain Architecture and Enterprise Architecture teamsResponsible for architecture deliverables such as; non-functional requirements, system diagrams, data models, and traceability matrix to track and monitor the solution from requirements to design to implementation to test casesQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience5+ years of hands on working experience on Java and related JEE/J2EE technology stack5+ years of hands-on Architecture experience is requiredExperience must include programming APIs; Java/JEE; Hibernate; Spring Framework; JSP; AJAX; JavaScript; XML and XML parsers; SOAP/REST web services; service-oriented architectures (SOA); data modeling skills; and writing stored procedures.Experience working with any of the Servlet containers or Enterprise containers like Tomcat, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere or JBOSS. Should have knowledge in using any of the mentioned servers like deployment, configuring & troubleshootingRetail and payment domain experience (highly valued)Experience with integration of third-party tools and cloud middleware platformsAble to design SaaS solutions that scale and perform with rock solid reliability, ability to identify and build-in key application monitoring hooks to allow for optimal management of the solutionCapable of working with Operations to plan major infrastructure upgrades, to troubleshoot issues and to tune the environment for optimal performance and uptimeMust be capable of providing leadership for junior and senior software engineers alike, understands how to leverage and enhance their current skillsAbility to use and communicate system design patterns and anti-patternsAbility to manage solution architecture design to align to business valueAbility to build solution architecture models using UMLAbility to strongly justify the proposed architecture and design in a comparative mode.
Ability to develop and manage architecture models such as activity models, class models and data models. Minimum of 5 years developing real world scaled solutions with knowledge of full application development lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies; waterfall, agile and hybrid. Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and listening skills.
