Responsibilities An average day: As the Solutions Architect III you will design and oversee the implementation of complex technology solutions that align with business objectives. In this role you will use strategic thinking to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution while ensuring scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions. This position is instrumental in ensuring that the managed IT environments meet the needs of the customer, while also ensuring seamless integration within our service delivery pipelines. You will serve as a technical visionary, driving architectural decisions that support both immediate project needs and long-term organizational growth. You will be a strategic technical leader who architects scalable, secure, and efficient IT environments that support distributed workforce operations while ensuring seamless end-user experiences across all locations. Additionally, in this role you will:Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical solutions that address specific business problems and goalsCreate comprehensive solution designs including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation roadmapsEvaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, frameworks, and products based on business needs, technical constraints, and cost considerationsEnsure solutions adhere to organizational architecture standards, security requirements, and compliance regulationsGuide development teams through implementation challenges and serve as the primary technical authority for projectsCollaborate with business leaders, product managers, developers, and other IT teams to align solutions with organizational objectivesAssess existing systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities and technical debt reduction strategiesIdentify potential technical risks and develop mitigation strategies before and during implementationCreate functional prototypes to validate architectural approaches and demonstrate technical feasibilityMaintain comprehensive solution documentation including rationale for key decisions, constraints, and future considerationsConduct training sessions and create documentation to support knowledge transfer to implementation and support teamsStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative approaches that create competitive advantagesServe as an on-site technical liaison, providing responsive support for ad-hoc client requests to maintain strong working relationshipsPerform situational troubleshooting and issue resolution to maintain goodwill and ensure continued access to client systemsQualificationsAs a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C), we will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility.Will be subject to a federal background investigation.10+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on designing and implementing complex cloud solutions.Must hold a current 8570/8140 IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)Expert understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.), proficient in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.), and deep experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).Has designed several scalable, high-performance architectures, possesses a strong understanding of microservices, serverless, and other cloud-native approaches.Expert understanding of cloud security best practices, identity and access management, encryption, and compliance.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical solutions to diverse stakeholders.Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies and iterative development cycles.Must be able to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally, international travel will require a current US Passport.Pay Transparency StatementAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $135,000.00/Yr. - USD $190,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
